"DIE WAND" IS MY RELEASE OF THE MONTH IN FEBRUARY. Marlen Haushof in "Die Wand"

One of the most intense reads I might have ever had is DIE WAND by Marlen Haushofer. A woman gets trapped inside an invisible wall on a small piece of land somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the alpes. Outside this wall all life seems to have stopped. To survive she starts writing a journal - roominating her depressive mind in a situation full of natural beauty and personal despair; in the novel Haushofer finds incredibly strong and magically tentive imagery depicting the endless loneliness of a person that seems to have lost contact to all life surrounding her. All loss and retraction. In her enchanting melancholic metaphor of this novel Haushofer creates an incredibly dense and compelling feel for the mind of her protagonist. Carrying this motion inside my heart, I sat down and played the music that you hear. (What you hear is my cello, electric bass processed with live electronics and a screwdriver.)
